Largo Pain Relief with Green Tea

April 04, 2024

We need to bring back teatime, a quiet time in the middle of the day to experience a quiet cup of tea away from the bustle of life! (Your Largo chiropractor would appreciate such a time again!) Teatime was beneficial for the mind and spirit and very likely quite good for the body. Most days, we just do not have time, but just drinking tea on the run in a reusable bottle on the commute to your chiropractic appointment at Hollstrom & Associates Inc can be beneficial, especially if it’s green tea.

BENEFITS OF TEA OVERALL

In China, drinking tea is part of daily life. Not a bad thing! In assessing the health benefits of tea and its active ingredients for osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis – common bone and joint diseases afflicting many people – researchers found that tea has potential anti-COX (cycolooxygenase) factors and hormone-like effects. They determined that tea has a great potential to be helpful in medicine and healthcare especially as the mechanisms of various tea properties are defined as to their synergistic mechanisms. (1) Tea from plants around us offers us a tasty way to be healthier and even a bit painfree!

BENEFITS OF GREEN TEA FOR PAIN

The more we acquire about what nature offers us via medicinal plants, the more we must appreciate nature! Green tea is a common beverage sourced from such medicinal plants. Green tea via lots of pharmacological activities and antinociceptive effects can be effective for pain relief due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Green tea is described as a safe and often effective treatment for pain management owing to its suppression of inflammation and oxidative stress. (2) Green tea’s major component, EGCG (epigallocatechin-3-gallate), is described in the published literature as a valuable anti-inflammatory factor as well as anti-oxidant. Research papers have explained how green tea benefits diseases like neurodegenerative and cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer, and obesity. Green tea and its EGCG seem to restrain the expression of inflammatory cytokines and inflammation-linked enzymes. The use of green tea potentially improves the quality of life for inflammatory disease patients without severe adverse side-effects. (3) Back pain and its related spinal pain conditions like leg, arm, and neck pain, etc., typically have inflammatory components with them, so increasing consumption of green tea for its anti-inflammatory benefit may be an advantage.
